"False B1" to real B2 — the HEXI diagnostic that got her hired
V7 Program · 7 months · B1 → B2
"I had studied German in school but tested as a 'false B1' — high pronunciation, low retention. HEXI immediately restructured my training toward vocabulary depth. I got the job."

The Full Story
Aisha had passed B1 German certification three years earlier in school. But her job application in Berlin required a B2 interview — and she quickly discovered B1 on paper was not the same as B1 under pressure.
VOICECAST Day 0 showed exactly why: pronunciation ring at 78% (her strongest — good school training), but retention at only 52%. She knew words when she saw them but couldn't produce them spontaneously under real conditions.
HEXI immediately restructured her program toward Anchor Mode and the SRS system. Conversation Practice was replaced by vocabulary recall drills for the first eight weeks. It felt wrong — she was supposed to be practicing speaking, not memorizing.
At month four, the retention ring crossed 75%. Spontaneous production followed immediately — the vocabulary she'd locked in started appearing in conversation automatically. The Berlin interview was at month six. She started work at month seven.

Nation (2001): Productive vocabulary mastery requires 10–16 spaced retrievals per item. HEXI's SRS scheduler optimizes interval timing per individual forgetting curve.
